Hi friend, my name is Celene!

The Heart & The Story Behind Seattle Ink & Paper Photo

I think my love for photography can be dated back to my first ever digital camera - Nikon Coolpix circa 2005. Ever since then, I always had a camera on hand taking photos of whatever sparks inspiration. Even as point and shoot cameras became outdated as cameras on cell phones improved - being able to take amazing photos was always important for me.

I’VE ALWAYS HAD A CAMERA ON HAND...

I'll use my phone until the battery dies. That's me. I am that friend that is constantly swatted away from taking too many photos over dinner, an event, someone's birthday...you name it.

I graduated with a BA in Fashion Design where I built my career and network working for the big leagues in Seattle like REI, Eddie Bauer and Tommy Bahama. Now I work for a big tech company working on licensed apparel while doing photography on the weekends. I never imagined that my journey would lead me to where I am now. Connecting and collaborating with so many creatives in all aspects of this industry.

The Intention:

Behind Seattle Ink and Paper Photo

I. To create meaningful & inclusive art in a predominately white space.

My approach to every creative endeavor is to create art that everyone can enjoy while taking up space in a predominantly white industry. As a Filipina immigrant, finding an opportunity to showcase my fellow BIPOC community will always be my priority. My work aims to express the breadth of beauty and diversity often under-represented and undervalued within Seattle.

Art is never a field that most Asian communities would ever aspire to. It's not that stereotypical career that parents would choose their kids to pursue. By pursuing the art of photography, I want to show that our voices, our stories and our perspectives matter.

We have so much value to bring because photography exemplifies what we see with our own eyes – to take on a different visual perspective and share it with the world. Art is for everyone.

II. Connecting with the hearts and stories of others.

Each time I work with my clients, I capture specific moments in time for them. Whether it be a reminder of who they are in that moment or showing them a side they don’t necessarily see every day. The amazing thing about photography is that it’s another person’s perspective! As a client, you allow your photographer to curate that perspective while creating a moving narrative. Delivering client galleries and receiving their emotional reactions is truly amazing. It fills my heart knowing that I was able to document special moments and reflect back every feeling through my work.

We would be the perfect match if...

1.

You desire to capture the moment, the feeling and energy of that moment

2.

You love my eye, creative direction and style of editing.

3.

YOU have a soft spot for the storytelling aesthetics and that hint of moody editing

4.

You are obsessed with lifestyle shots that capture authentic moments and not entirely posed
